The newest addition to the Celebrity Cruises fleet, and the first in the Solstice Class, is Celebrity Solstice. Weighing in at 122,000 tons, she is 1,033 feet long, cruises at 24 knots per hour and has a passenger capacity of 2,850.
The maiden voyage for Celebrity Solstice is planned for 23 November 2008. The design of the ship is distinctive but it is anticipated that the colour scheme for the hull will be in keeping with the current Celebrity Cruises fleet livery. The traditional Celebrity large blue funnel though will be replaced by two thin funnels.
What has not changed are the magnificent amenities and entertainment on board. There are the new AquaClassSM staterooms that have spa facilities in them and which share a deck with the AquaSpa relaxation room. The package includes assigned seating at Blu, the healthy lifestyle restaurant, plus special access to all spa amenities.
The entertainment hub of the ship will be Celebrity Central. Live music, comedy shows and movie screenings are some of the highlights guests can enjoy in the evenings and into the night.
Another innovation will be The Lawn Club. This beautifully manicured area will be situated on the top deck between the two funnels and will be home to a number of outdoor activities all taking place on actual live grass.
Wine buffs and wine novices will be enthralled by Cellar Masters, a global wine tour where you can learn about and sample wines from around the world in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere.
Fine wines will also be available in the Grand Epernay dining room where you will also be served with sumptuous cuisine from around the world set against the backdrop of glittering chandeliers and a huge two-storey wine tower.
Celebrity Solstice is a much anticipated addition to the Celebrity Cruises fleet and she is not likely to disappoint.
